Darkstar Speedpaints

Speedpaints depicting scenery on the planet Trolis from my novel, Darkstar (which is currently being re-written). Each speedpaint took 15-20 minutes.

From top to bottom:

The blue, fur-covered Siini Trees. These trees shed their fur in the autumn and emanate a thick bluish fog.

Ahi Trees. These trees gather water in their branches and through their roots, which they gather in small orbs. When full, the orbs close up and are heated by veins in the trees, causing the water inside to become hot and glow. Once picked, these Ahi Globes lose their glow, but stay hot until opened, or until they freeze in winter.

The Two Coins Inn. An important setting in my novel, owned by a Trolisian named Raeg and his four sons.

The "fairy fields" of Olm and the Kuran mountains. When a strong enough wind blows across the Miiaen grass, small circular flowers on their stalks glow. The Kuran mountains are part of the Kura territory and are covered with Miiaen grass.
