Very possibly the first set of humanoid characters I ever created originated from an idea for a story I had back in 6th or 7th grade.

The story went through many premise and title changes, but always remained "Wolfbane and Luna" in some way shape or form. The plot always centered on a colony of "monsters" - Werewolves, Vampires, ghosts, witches, warlocks, gill men and other miscellaneous creatures - that resided in a safe haven in Wyoming (the least-populated U.S. state) called New Transylvania.

So the characters are making a comeback for the time being, and are being re-vamped (no pun intended).

About Gill Men

Gill Men can breathe underwater and out of water (but only for a short time). At times when they are needed out of the water for more than they can stand, they use an apparatus that resembles an air tank, only filled with water.

Gill Men of course are expert swimmers and can camouflage themselves excellently. Their eyesight and speed is unmatched.

Unlike most other "monsters," the Gill Men actually have their own language, which is a mix of clicks, croons and hand motions. Most of them also speak forms of Spanish.

Females of the species have a curled shell, rather than ridges on their head.

When angry, the fins that cover their ears, the fins on their back, arms and legs fan out.
